Thank you for booking your flash ceremony! Here's everything you need to know.

WHERE

All flash ceremonies take place at the Canton Garden Center, 1615 Stadium Park Drive NW, Canton, OH 44718. (Googlers, look here. Apple Mappers, here.) There are several gazebos at the park - you'll be meeting me at the one directly next to the clock tower. See below for details.

Don't fall for those other gazebos or parking lots!

 

WHEN

I will arrive at the gazebo promptly at the time you selected. Please be punctual and be ready to begin when I arrive!

FEE

The fee for the ceremony is $150, which is due in cash before the ceremony begins. I only accept cash. I do not accept checks, credit cards, electronic payments or cryptocurrency.

GETTING YOUR LICENSE

You are responsible for procuring a valid Ohio marriage license from your local county probate court. I do not issue your license! You have 60 days from the date the license is issued to have a licensed officiant (me) perform your ceremony and sign it. Please bring everything you were given at the probate court with you to your ceremony. Probate courts will give you a folder or large envelope with all of these papers inside - bring all of it. Don't remove anything from the folder or envelope they give you at the courthouse! IMPORTANT NOTES

  • The gazebo will hold no more than a dozen people comfortably.
  • There is no seating on the gazebo. (There are benches nearby, but they do not provide a view of the gazebo.)
  • There is a short walk from the parking lot to the gazebo, and no protection from the elements other than the gazebo roof. Your ceremony will take place rain or shine. Please dress accordingly and bring an umbrella if necessary.
  • I will be dressed neatly but casually. You may wear whatever you like!
  • There are no public restrooms in the immediate area. There is also no private place to change clothes. There is a large building on site with both of these amenities that you may rent for a modest fee. You must call Canton Parks and Recreation at 330-456-4521 to reserve this space. I cannot provide you access to this building.
  • Your ceremony will be very brief - literally just 2-3 minutes long. I say some brief, inspiring words about love, you quickly say your vows (the words "this I vow" in response to a question) and exchange rings, and I immediately issue the pronouncement.
